The top 5 bets winning Roulette players stick to

Roulette is one of the most exciting table games available at online casinos and in the live world. It’s basically like Wheel of Fortune, without the need to solve a complex puzzle. Just place your bet on a number or a series of numbers and hope that your number or numbers come up.

But though Roulette can be relatively simple, there are usually two types of casino players—those who love Roulette and claim they always win and those who refuse to play it because they’ve hit nothing but losing streak after losing streak.

inner1roulette11022016If you fall into the former, go ahead and skip this article. You clearly know what you’re doing. But if you’re in the latter camp, this article is for you. Today, we’ve got the top 5 bets that winning Roulette players gravitate to. If you want to win, keep reading.

Your goal: To get nearly 50/50 odds
Your best bet: Evens/Odds

If you’re a fan of coin tosses, you’re going to love playing Roulette. No other casino game offers the chance of close to 50/50 odds on a bet. In Roulette, there are 38 numbers. You’ve got 1 through 36, a single zero, and a double zero. That adds up to 38 numbers. You can bet on almost half the numbers in one shot by betting on Red/Black, Evens/Odds, or 1-18/19-36. It covers almost half of the numbers on the wheel but not quite all of them. That’s because 0 and 00 aren’t included in either of these two bets. Remember, the zeroes are green and neither of those numbers is considered even, despite what you might have learned in grade school math.

By betting on any of the bets mentioned above, you’re covering nearly half the board in a single bet, which means you’ve got a decent chance of winning. Because these bets offer you your best odds of winning, the payouts are restricted to 1:1. That means if you bet $10, you’ll win $10.

The payouts for this type of bet can be enormous, depending on how many chips you put down. In a famous big bet, Ashley Revell bet his entire life savings on a single bet. He bet $136,000 on Red in a televised event that would ultimately change his life. The number that ultimately hit? 7, which is red on the Roulette wheel. Revell came out victorious, but we definitely don’t recommend trying that type of bet at home.

Your goal: To get slightly better payouts with not too much more risk
Your best bet: Column bets

inner2roulette11022016Not satisfied with 1:1 payouts? You can up your payouts to 2:1 without reducing too many of your numbers. By betting on column bets, you’re covering about 1/3rd of the numbers (slightly less, though, because you’re not covering the zeroes). Keep in mind that column bets don’t cover consecutive numbers (the first column numbers, for example, are 1, 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, 22,2 5, 28, 31), but they do cover a nice chunk of the felt. And because you’re eliminating two thirds of the potential numbers, your payouts increase to 2 to 1. That means if you bet $10, you’ll win $20.

Your goal: To make slow but steady wins
Your best bet: Bet on red and the third column

The Roulette board is an interesting beast. Take a quick look at it and you’ll see that the last column includes 8 red numbers and 4 black ones. You’ll find more red numbers on the third column than you will on the second column (that one has just 4 reds). And the same deal goes for the third column where 5 red numbers are included.

You can make the red-rich third column work to your favor by betting on the third column and Black at the same time. Make sure your Black bet is double your column bet, so if you bet $10 on the third column, bet $20 on Black. If a Red number hits on the third column, you’ll win $20 for that column bet, but you’ll lose the Black bet. It’s considered a push, since you’re even. But if you hit a Black bet and it happens to fall in the third column, you’ll come out ahead.

This Roulette bet offers you the chance to make slow and steady gains while minimizing risk. When you win, you can win big. When you lose, you’ll also have the chance to break even, which isn’t really an option without Roulette bets.

Your goal: To go big or go home
Your best bet: Straight-up bet

inner3roulette1102016The best payouts in Roulette come when you bet on a single number and that single number hits. The payouts are unreal. We’re talking 35 to 1. That means if you put $10 down on the number 19 and the ball drops on 19, you’ll win $350 instantly.

It’s definitely a risky bet, but if you’re in it to win it, this bet can pay out large. If you have $350 to wager, you can technically place 35 bets in a row before you blow through your bankroll. And if your number hits before you’ve made 35 bets, you’re suddenly ahead of the game. Chances are you won’t hit your number right away, but when you do, the payouts can be extreme.

Your goal: To go almost as big with better odds
Your best bet: Split bet

If betting on a single number scares the hell out of you, you can find yourself sitting on handsome payouts without going to the extreme of a straight up bet. The Split bet involves betting on any two numbers that are joined on the felt. The numbers can be next to each other vertically or horizontally. To place this bet, simply place your chips on the line that the two numbers share. The payouts for this bet are impressive at 17 to 1. While it’s not as great as a Straight Up payout, the odds against winning are 18 to 1 instead of 37 to 1.
