How to play Online Blackjack

Have you wondered why gamblers worldwide prefer playing Blackjack? The reason is a mix of luck and skills at card counting. It perhaps is the only casino table game where all casinos are vulnerable. The goal of the game is get a card total of 21 or closest to 21 to beat the dealer and win the hand. If your card total is more than 21, you bust and lose to the dealer automatically.

Player’s Turn: In Blackjack you take the initiative. To begin, you need to place your bet. Click the chips to place a bet. You can place a minimum of $5 and maximum of $250 bet at our Blackjack table. To remove chips from the table, click the chips.

After you place your bet, click the Deal button. You and the Dealer are dealt two cards each. Your cards are dealt face up, and the card total is called out. Dealer is dealt one card face up called Up Card and another card face down called Hole Card.

Cards from 2 to 10 carry their face value. Jack, Queen, and King are ranked at 10. The Ace can either be counted as 1 or 11, whichever is higher.

Once the cards are dealt, you can choose to Hit, Double, Split, or Stand. Let’s see what these terms are all about.

Hit: When you wish to draw another card, you hit. Click the Hit button to get another card. For example, if your two cards are ranked 3 and 7, you may like to get another card to get a total of 21 or closest to 21.

Double: You can click the Double button to double your bet. You can double your bet on any two cards. However, judge your cards carefully before you double your bet. You may like to double your bet if you get a card total that along with another card could fetch you a winning combination of 21. After you double your bet, another card is dealt to you automatically. Also, you can only double once in a hand.

Split: Blackjack allows you to split a pair in two hands. The biggest advantage of splitting pairs is that it allows you to double your bet in a favorable situation. But you should judge your hand before you split it. Let’s say you’re dealt a pair of Eights. Their total value is 16. Now, 16 may not prove a good number either for a stand or another hit. You may go bust if you draw another card, for you’re quite close to 21. You may lose to the Dealer because 16 is not a winning total either. So, splitting is a good option in this case. You could try your luck and skills at two hands where the first card would be an Eight.

When you split your cards, a bet equal to your initial bet is placed automatically on your second hand. To split your cards, click the Split button. When you split any pair except Aces, you can draw more than one card to make a winning total of 21 or reach closest to 21. In case of Aces, the probability of getting a Blackjack is too high, so you’re only allowed to draw one and only one card in your split hands.

Stand: When you’re fine with your card total and don’t want to hit any more, you can choose to stand. Click the Stand button to do so.

Dealer’s Turn

After you stand, the Dealer reveals their other card. The Dealer will try to hit more to get a hand better than yours. Three things can happen when the Dealer reveals their cards:

  • The Dealer wins the hand.
  • The Dealer busts and you win the hand.
  • The Dealer and you get identical card total and you get a push. Your bet is returned to you.

You Win When:

  • Your card total beats Dealer’s card total.
  • You get a Blackjack, which is a combination of an Ace and a ten or the coloured cards, Jack, Queen, or King.
Game Features

Two Hands: You can play two hands simultaneously at our table by placing two bets at the same time. When you click the chips to place your bet, you are given the option to place another bet. Follow the on screen instructions to place an identical or different bet.

Insurance: If the Dealer’s up card is an Ace, the chances are it’s a Blackjack. In this case, you can insure your bet for half the cost of your original bet. For example, if you place a $50 bet, the insurance would cost you $25. Now, insurance pays 2 to 1. It means if the Dealer indeed has a Blackjack, you are paid $50 on your bet, and the hand closes. If the dealer does not have a Blackjack, you lose your insured bet of $25 and can continue playing the hand on the original wager of $50.

Rules

Blackjack is a combination of an Ace and a Jack, Queen, or King and it pays 3 to 2, which is 1.5 times your original bet. Insurance pays 2 to 1, which is twice the amount of your insurance bet.

In case of a tie, your bet is returned to you.

The Dealer must hit a soft 17.

The Dealer must hit on a hard total of 16 or less.

Only one card is dealt on split aces.

The Dealer stands on any soft total of 18 or more.

Online Blackjack Strategy

Blackjack is one of those online casino games where your decision matters a lot. You can judge your hand once the cards are dealt and decide to pack up or continue playing. It, however, takes a lot of experience to take the right decision at the right time. The strategies discussed on this page deal more with the betting aspect of Blackjack rather than how-to-play. These strategies can help you make a decent amount of money by betting appropriately at the right time.

Betting Systems A betting system is a mathematical system that lets you decide the amount of money you should bet whether you are on a winning or losing streak. Betting systems basically fall into three categories: positive progression, negative progression, and negative regression. A positive progression system suggests that you increase your bet each time you win. A negative progression system on the other hand suggests you increase your bet every time you lose. A negative regression system suggests you to decrease your bet each time you lose. These systems have been around for years despite their pros and cons. Many gamblers find them useful and you too can benefit by using these.

There are many betting systems out there but the most popular ones include The Martingale System, Paroli System, Parlay System, D’ Alembert System, The Kelly Criterion, and the 1-3-2-6 System. Each of these systems has its own benefits and risks. On this page, you’ll learn how to utilize the Martingale system.

The Martingale System Many Blackjack players utilize the Martingale system to end their losing streak. It is a negative progression system and requires you to double your bet each time you lose. It assumes that even if you continue to lose, you will have your moment of triumph. And that moment will not only let you recover all your losses but will also give you additional profits.

Let’s have a closer look at this system. Assume that you enter a casino with bulging pockets and soaring spirits. Your bankroll is worth a $1000. You act like a serious Blackjack player and though you hope to win, you’re prepared to lose as well. You decide to use the Martingale system to interrupt your losing streak.

You begin the game with a $10 bet and, God forbids, lose. You apply the Martingale system and double your bet to $20. You lose again, double your bet to $40 and lose again! By now, your $1000 bankroll is reduced to $930 ($1000 – $10 – $20 – $40). You double your bet again and wager $80, reducing your bankroll to $850. The tables turn and you have your win this time! You have $160 on the table. That increases your bankroll to $1010 ($850 + $160). You can see for yourself that Martingale system not only helped you recover your losses but provided a net profit of $10.

At times, this system can be risky. You may reach the table limit while doubling down your bets or finish your entire bankroll. Albeit, this system can effectively help you recover your losses and end your losing streak.

While we at Cool Cat Casino have included this strategy to help you improve your chances at winning, it does not guarantee that the strategy will work for you. Neither does it guarantee any wins or payouts based on the strategy.

History of Online Blackjack

Miguel de Cervantes was the first one to refer to a game similar to Blackjack in one of his stories written in the beginning of the 17th century. The main characters of the story are skilled at cheating at the game of “Veintiuna” (meaning 21 in Spanish).

The game was first played in Castile, the ancient Kingdom of Spain. Later, a similar game called “Vingt-et-Un” (Meaning 21 in French) was played in France and was very popular.

When the game was brought to America, people showed least interest in it. Casino owners did their best to bring more people to a Blackjack table. Once the payout for a Blackjack was 10 to 1, and a Blackjack could mean an Ace and a Jack of Spade or Club. The game soon became popular and the payouts were decreased.

Today, a Blackjack may not necessarily contain a Jack or any other black card at all.
