The objective of the player in the Match Play 21 Blackjack is to draw the cards with the total higher than the dealer without going over 21. If that sounds very much like Blackjack, remember that this game has the Match Play 21 win. This basically means the player holds a hand with three 7s of the same suit, even as the dealer’s up card reveals a seven.
The Match Play 21 is played with 48-card deck with all the tens removed from the deck. All the other cards in the deck remain and are assigned the following points:
Card values:
- The cards from 2 through 9 are given the points at their face value.
- Jacks, Queens and Kings hold 10 points.
- Aces can count as either 1 or 11. To illustrate, 4+ Ace is equal to 5 points or 15 points. The value of Ace may change as you split or double down.
Note: The cards are reshuffled after every hand.
Player’s actions:
Bet: The game begins when you place a bet. On the Match play 21 table layout at Cool Cat Casino, you can place the minimum bet of $5 and the maximum of $250. There are different chips of $1, $5, $25 and $100 to settle down your wager. You can click on the rebet tab to place the similar stake amount with which you betted on your last hand.
Deal: Once you have placed your bet, press the deal button to draw begin the gameplay. Then you are dealt with two cards face up and the dealer is dealt with one card face up and one facedown. You win if the total of your cards is higher than the dealer and it dose not exceed the limit of 21. You lose if the total of your cards is less than the dealer and the total of the dealer’s cards dose not exceed 21.
Surrender: The surrender option allows you to give up on your hand if you think that it is not good enough to stand. When you surrender, half of your bet is returned back to you.
Double: You can “double down” if you believe that apart from the first two cards, drawing another card will help you beat the dealer’s hand. When you press the double tab your wager is automatically doubled and you are dealt with another card face up. For instance, if your first hand has a 2 and a queen with a bet of $5. The dealer’s hand shows a queen and you feel dealing another card can help you beat the dealer’s hand, you press double. At this a third card will be dealt to you and your wager will increase to $10. You can double down on any number of cards but you can double only once. You also have the option to surrender after you have doubled down. Surrendering after doubling down will pull off your double down wager.
Split: If you are dealt with two cards of the same value, you may split the two cards into two separate hands by clicking the split tab. For instance, if you get the 7, 7 or Q, K then you can split the cards into two separate hands. You can play with three hands one at a time. Once you have split your cards with the similar value, you can proceed with the usual dealing of the cards.
Note: If you split two Aces, only one extra card is dealt for each hand. A hand that gives out the total of 21 after the Aces are split is considered as 21, not Blackjack.
Stand: When you want to keep the hand which is dealt, press the stand button. If you get the hard total of 21, the game will automatically put your hand on stand.
Push: When the dealer’s card total and your card total come out to be equal, the game is a push. This results in neither winning and nor losing and returns your wager as well. In Match play 21, it not a push if you and the dealer both has blackjack. In fact, in this case the player automatically wins.
Note: There can be push only when the dealer has the card total from 17 to 20.
Hit: If you wish to draw another card, you can take a hit before you stand. You can keep drawing the cards till you get bust or a total of 21. Hit option draws the cards without doubling your bet. You can hit on your original stake.
Insurance: Insurance gives you an option to protect yourself whenever the dealer’s face up card is an Ace. You can click on the ‘yes’ or ‘no’ options to buy or not to buy insurance respectively. You can purchase insurance at the price of half of your original bet. If you buy the insurance and the dealer’s card total comes out to be 21, you win 2:1 which matches up to your original bet. However, if the dealer’s card total is not 21, you lose your insurance money. In case if both the player and the dealer get blackjack, it results in a push. The player wins “even money” which includes your wager plus the insurance reward.
Bust: Whenever the player’s or the dealer’s card value exceeds the total 21, it called bust. If the dealer busts, you win automatically. If you go bust, you lose your wager.
Blackjack: It is Blackjack, when the total value of the initial two cards comes out to be 21. If you get the score of 21 with three or more cards, it is not considered to be a Blackjack.
